NOTICE OF RACE
Rules Racing will be conducted in accordance with:
1. The rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
2. The rules of PHRF as administered by LMPHRF.
3. This Notice Of Race and any amendments thereto.
4. The Sailing Instructions and any amendments thereto.
Eligibility The race is open to all monohull yachts that:
1. Are seaworthy and meet the minimum requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard.
2. Have a current insurance certificate with $300,000 of liability coverage.
3. Have a VHF marine radio with channels 16 and 69
4. Have submitted an entry form and paid the entry fee by the entry deadline.
A non-scoring start will also be provided for a multihull division if a minimum of 6 entries are submitted.
Entries Entries shall be submitted on the official entry form with the entry fee. The waiver must be signed. Entries should be sent to :

Entry Deadline The entry deadline is 6 PM September 2, 2003 at the Anchorage Marina office. Entries received after 6 PM Sept. 2, 2003 but before 6 PM Sept. 4, 2003 may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Committee and shall be assessed a late fee of $25.00. Acceptance of any late entries will be at the sole discretion of the Race Committee.
Courses: Participants may choose either the Gold Course or the Silver Course:
Gold Course: Grand Haven to Holland
Check-in Yachts may check-in Friday evening, Sept. 5 between 6 PM and 10 PM
or Saturday September 6, between 7:30 AM and 9 AM, at the
Grand River Sailing Clubhouse.
Skippers Meeting The Skippers meeting will be held at 9:30 in the grandstands
Sailing Instructions The Sailing Instructions will be available at check-in.
Course The course will be from Grand Haven to Holland
Races There will be two concurrent races. Both the Spinnaker fleet and the Jib and Main fleet will
be rated and scored under LMPHRF.
Scoring A yacht’s corrected time will be computed by subtracting her handicapped time from her
elapsed time. Corrected times will then be ranked from low to high.
Awards Each fleet will be divided into divisions. Awards will be presented for first, second, and
third place in each division. Awards will also be presented for first, second, and third place overall in the spinnaker fleet, and the jib and main fleet. The first place finisher in each fleet shall also have their boat’s name inscribed on the Anchorage Cup Trophy.
Rule Exceptions Jib and Main shall take exception to the use of spinnakers, asymmetrical spinnakers, cruising spinnakers, staysails or the like. None are allowed. Spinnaker poles, whisker poles and the like are allowed if attached to the mast.
Silver Course: Triangle course off the Holland Channel
Check-in No check-in will be required. Skippers of entered yachts will be mailed sailing instructions on Tuesday, September 2. Instructions will also be available prior to the race at Anchorage Marina office and at AnchorageCup.com.

Course The course will be a triangle course around buoys that will start and finish off the Holland channel. The start-finish line will be approximately 1 mile northwest of the north pier, with approximately 2 mile legs. The number of laps will be determined by the race committee based on wind conditions. It is anticipated that the start sequence will commence at 12:00 noon and the intended race duration will be 2 to 3 hours.
Races There will be one race for Jib and Main boats only. This Jib and Main fleet will
be rated and scored under LMPHRF.
